Training & Meetings Overview

The Chester Gap Volunteer Fire Department is committed to maintaining a high level of preparedness through ongoing training, education, and professional development. Regular training allows our members to strengthen their skills, improve operational readiness, and ensure the highest level of service to the communities we protect.

Members are encouraged to participate in all available training opportunities, department drills, meetings, and continuing education programs.

Monthly Membership Meeting

When: First Wednesday of Each Month
Time: 19:00 Hours (7:00 PM)
Location: Chester Gap Volunteer Fire Department

Monthly membership meetings provide an opportunity for members to:

  • Receive department updates
  • Review recent incidents and activities
  • Discuss upcoming events and projects
  • Vote on department business when necessary
  • Share ideas and concerns
  • Receive committee reports

October 17–18, 2026 Basic Pump Operator (BPO) Company 3 (Amissville) Saturday: 8:00 AM – 12:00 PM (Lecture)
Saturday: 1:00 PM – 5:00 PM (Practicals)
Sunday: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM (Practicals		 Basic Pump Operator (BPO): Participants must be 18 years of age or older, possess a valid, unrestricted driver's license, register by October 2, 2026, and enroll through VDFP Cornerstone.
Sept 9, 11, 12 EVOC Class Company 3 (Amissville) 18:00-22:00 Wensday and Friday 08:00-16:00 Saturday EVOC: Participants must be 18 years of age or older, possess a valid driver's license, attend 100% of all scheduled classes, and register through VDFP Cornerstone.
