The Chester Gap Volunteer Fire Department is always seeking dedicated individuals who are interested in serving their community and helping others in times of need. Whether you are interested in emergency response, community outreach, administrative support, or learning new skills, there is a place for you at CGVFD.

No prior experience is required. We provide opportunities for training, mentorship, and personal growth while serving alongside a dedicated team of volunteers and emergency service professionals.

Membership Opportunities

Operational Members

Operational members actively participate in emergency response activities, including:

  • Fire Suppression

  • Emergency Medical Response

  • Rescue Operations

  • Training Activities

  • Public Safety Events

Training opportunities are available for members interested in becoming firefighters, emergency responders, and support personnel.


Junior Members

The Junior Member Program provides young individuals with an opportunity to learn about the fire and emergency services while developing leadership, teamwork, and responsibility.

Junior members may participate in approved training activities, community events, and department functions in accordance with department policies and applicable regulations.


Support Members

Support members play a critical role in the success of the department by assisting with:

  • Fundraising Activities

  • Community Events

  • Administrative Projects

  • Department Functions

  • Public Outreach Efforts

Support members help ensure the department can continue serving the community effectively.


Training Opportunities

Members have access to a variety of training opportunities, including:

  • Firefighter Training

  • Emergency Medical Training

  • Rescue Training

  • Driver and Apparatus Operations

  • Incident Command System (ICS) Courses

  • Leadership Development Programs

No experience is necessary to begin. Our department is committed to helping members learn and grow.
